Meu MAPA MUNDI

I have always been fascinated by world maps, globes, old world maps, trips, places around the world and the like.  I have world apps and whatever on my Ipad, IPhone and Facebook page... I can spend hours dreaming and travelling on Google Earth, which of course I have pinned all over ;) So when I saw this displat by UMBRA  I immediately knew what I was going to do!!!! So there you are, a world map, some colorful post-its and a "places visited" list, and I have my own Adventure Map!

Mapas mundi, globos, mapas antigos, livros de viagens e lugares sempre me fascinaram. Meu Google Earth é todinho marcado, hehehe. E aí, quando eu vi esse painel da UMBRA , soube na hora o que fazer. Colei uns post-its coloridos nos lugares visitados e fiz o meu mapa mundi! :)))

MUNIQUE e BERLIN

We love cold weather and try to get some every chance we get! We spent our Christmas and New Year's in Germany and were lucky enough to get quite a lot of snow:))))))  

Nós amamos frio e tentamos viajar para lugares frios sempre que possível. Passamos o Natal e o Ano Novo na Alemanha, e geralmente damos bastante sorte com neve: como dá para ver, nevou bem :))))

Christmas in Germany is just magical! We were in Munich- which is my place of birth, actually- until the 27th and enjoyed every minute of it! 

O Natal na Alemanha é maravilhoso! Na verdade, grande parte das nossas tradições de Natal, como a árvore e as bolas de Natal vem de lá, então dá para imaginar o clima natalino que toma conta do país, né? 

Then we went to Berlin for New Year´s. I am in love with the city, and would most definitely and absolutely live there ( I would also absolutely and definitely live in Santiago do Chile and San Francisco, California, so I better get my lottery numbers right, lol)

O Ano Novo foi em Berlin e taí um lugar onde eu moraria! Eu amoamoamo a cidade! 

And then the food! I love German food, and I think it is not known well enough around the world. Here in Brazil, people only know Eisbein und sausages and Apfelstrudel, and that´s a pity, because there´s sooooo much more to German cuisine and patisserie. I loooove all sorts of potato dumplings and noodles, as well as mushrooms that are used a lot in traditional dishes. And the breads, desserts, tartes, cakes and chocolates, OMG!! 

Bom, e aí tem a comida alemã que, na boa, aqui no Brasil nem fazemos ideia de como é! Aqui, quando falamos em comida alemã, a grande maioria das pessoas pensa em joelho de porco e salsicha e Apfelstrudel...o que é uma pena, mesmo, porque a culinária alemã é muito saborosa e rica em ervas e temperos. Eu amos todas as coisas feitas de batata, que vão da simples salada à massa (isso mesmo, existem uns tipos de "macarrão" feitos de batata) ! Eles também usam muito cogumelo, que eu AMO, muitas nozes e amêndoas e avelãs, que AMO, muitos vegetais e muito queijo! Sem falar nos doces e sobremesas e confeitaria e chocolates, uma delícia!   

Esses "triângulos" acima e as bolas abaixo são feitos de batata.

Essa massinha acima também é de batata, e é doce. Os pontinhos pretos são semente de papoula, muito usados na culinária alemã. E aqui no Brasil, semente de papoula é proibida! Que ridículo!!! :(((

AUSTRIA 2014

We´ve just come back from beautiful, amazing Austria. The country is full of history and tradition, gorgeous nature, romantic scenery, wonderful arts and music, the friendliest of people and as personal interest to me, Haute Patisserie and Swarovski :)))))))))))))) What else is there to wish for? It is spring there right now and the gardens and woods are just preposterously ravishing. We started in Innsbruck where we also visisted Swarovski Kristallwelten, then went to Salzburg where we took a car and drove the Romantische Strasse until Vienna. It was a splendid trip! 

Acabamos de chegar da belíssima Áustria, terra de história, tradição, artes, música, natureza deslumbrante, povo maravilhoso, cidadezinhas românticas, e é claro, doçaria "finérrima" e Swarovski!!!! Chegamos no meio do absurdo que é a primavera no hemisfério norte, pegamos neve em Innsbruck onde é claro visitei a Swarovski Kristallwelten, fomos até Salzburg onde alugamos um carro para conhecer a Estrada Romântica e terminamos em Vienna! Amei mais do que posso expressar, :))))))))
