HAPPY VALENTINE´S DAY

We have a kind of Valentine´s Day here in Brazil in June, but as I am crazy for celebrations, we do celebrate two Valentine´s Days a year!!! This post is about small things scattered around our home that make me happy.

Nosso Dia dos Namorados é em junho, mas por aqui a gente comemora dois por ano, o nosso e o Valentine´s Day! Esta postagem é de coisinhas que temos em casa e que me deixam super feliz!

MAIS um BOLO...

This is more of the same classic yellow cake (recipe here) that I baked here and here...I'm in love with this super versatile batter! This time I decided to make a marble cake and a chocolate chip cake (1 batch yielded two cakes). Then I made a huge mistake; I forgot to coat the chocolate chips with flour and they all sank to the bottom of the cake pan, as you can see in the picture :(...  The chocolate icing I learned from my mom, the recipe is bellow. 


Mais um bolo com a mesma receita (Classic yellow cake aqui) que já tinha publicado aqui  e aqui ! Estou encantada com essa receita super versátil e fácil  e desta vez resolvi experimentar com chocolate, então fiz um bolo mármore e um de gotinhas de chocolate. Uma receita deu para os dois bolos. Aí cometi um erro fatal, hehehe, esqueci de passar as gotinhas de chocolate no trigo e todas elas afundaram para o fundo da forma :(... A cobertura eu aprendi da minha mãe, a receita está abaixo.

CHOCOLATE ICING/ COBERTURA DE CHOCOLATE

I love this icing because it forms a very thin hard crust that remains soft underneath. Is the recipe calls for a chocolate icing, this is the one I go for (unless it calls for richer ganache, then I always go for ganache, hehehe). I learned it from my mom and make it without following a recipe, but I tried to measure the ingredients for you. As I have been making it since ever, I know the right consistency when cooking it and make adjustments accordingly. The icing should not be soft, sticky or gooey when cooled.   
100grs unsalted butter
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa podwer
1 cup confectioner´s sugar
1 tbs milk or heavy cream
Heat everything until the butter has melted. Avoid bringing it to a boil. Use it hot over still warm cakes and let everything cool.   

Eu adoro essa cobertura porque ela forma uma crostinha que fica dura por cima e continua meio molinha por baixo! Eu faço de olho, mas tentei medir os ingredientes para vocês. Toda vez que faço um bolo que precisa de cobertura de chocolate eu faço essa cobertura, bom, a não ser que seja ganache, aí eu vou de ganache, é lógico! Como faço de olho, eu sei se deu ponto na hora que está no fogo, aí acerto os ingredientes de acordo. Eu acho que o negócio é tentar e ir aprendendo, a cobertura não pode ficar grudenta...
100grs manteiga sem sal
1/3 xícara de cacau em pó
1 xícara de açúcar de confeiteiro
1 col de sopa de leite ou crema de leite
leve tudo ao fogo e misture até a manteiga derreter e evite ferver. Derrame quente sobre bolos quentes e deixe esfriar.

It looks like yet another beautiful issue of Burda Style is about to hit the newstands! I really liked the lacey-flowery romantic pieces and the street style looks!  

Outra Burda cheinha de coisas bonitas! :)))) Adorei as peças super românticas em renda ou flores, e esses looks meio rock' n roll com saias de babados e coletes!

Oh, I do love maxi dresses...

E achei esses vestidos de noiva super interessantes...adoro vestidos longos!
